About

Welcome to TRASH ARCHIVEa slow fashion project founded in expressing yourself through what already exists <3

I curate high-quality vintage and handcraft fashion and accessories from upcycled materials, salvaged from the discard pile.

Why shop trash?

  • The fast fashion industry is the second-largest industrial polluter, accounting for approximately 8-10% of global carbon emissions (which is more than the emissions from all international flights and maritime shipping combined!) (Geneva Environment Network, 2025).
  • 85% of all textiles go to the dump each year (Geneva Environment Network, 2025).
  • Every year, over 300,000 tonnes of clothing is either sent to landfill or exported from Australia (Gbor & Chollet, 2024).
  • The carbon footprint of Australia’s fashion consumption is the largest of any G20 country (Gbor & Chollet, 2024).
  • "Each Australian consumes an average of 27 kilograms of new clothing per year and disposes an average 23 kilograms of clothing to landfill each year" (SMaRT @ UNSW, n.d.).

Of course, the most sustainable clothing item is the one already in your wardrobe! But when you're ready for something different, I think it should come from what already exists.

Trash Archive is an alternative to overproduction, overconsumption, and the costly myth of “new.”
